About the Album

Ash Writ Gospel is the sonic manuscript of a broken, burning world—a concept album carved from steel and suffering, from echoes of fallen empires and digital ruins. This is not an easy record. It’s a sermon screamed through static, a gospel forged in flame, an indictment and an anthem for the survivors who refuse to fall in silence.

Across ten blistering tracks, PryBirds digs into themes of corrupted religion, technological idolatry, decaying leadership, and the buried cost of blind faith. This album is a spiritual rebellion—not against faith itself—but against the machinery that distorts it, pollutes it, and weaponizes it. It’s a fist raised in defiance, a voice crying out for the forgotten, and a war drum for those who live by truth, not fear.

Each song on Ash Writ Gospel tells part of a larger narrative:

  • Cathedral Rusted Red — The collapse of sacred structures, where oil replaces incense and truth bleeds rust.
  • Plague of Saints — The return of twisted holy figures as judges, wielding disease instead of miracles.
  • Burnt Offering (To the Engine God) — Our sacrifice to machines, and the silence that follows.
  • Teeth of the Furnace — Judgement handed down by metal mouths, where every spark is a sentence.
  • Ember Sermon — A preacher’s final words to a world with no redemption left.
  • Psalm for the Drowned — The mourning of voices that no one will ever hear again.
  • Hollow Light, Heavy Crown — The quiet rebellion of those crushed under false rulers.
  • The Book of Black Fire — A forbidden tome and the awakening it brings.
  • No Graves for Ashes — The closing dirge of civilization—finality set to melody.

It’s an album born from chaos, and it speaks for the ones trampled by it.

From Vincent Krell – Lead Vocals

“This isn’t just a record. It’s a mirror held to a broken planet. You look into it, and you see warlords in suits. You see entire nations sacrificing their people for profit. You see the machinery of religion twisted into something unrecognizable. And yeah—we scream about it. But it’s not just rage. It’s clarity.

When life hits hard, you keep standing. That’s step one. Step two? Survive. Step three? Live free and strong—and make damn sure they know you’re not going quietly. Every day we exist with power, love, and clarity is a middle finger to the ones who want us buried.

There’s no prophecy coming to save us. No salvation wrapped in holy thread. But there’s us—and this album is about what happens when we say: no more.”

The Message Behind the Music

Ash Writ Gospel was written in a time of global fracture—wars waged over power, disinformation spread like digital wildfire, and systems built to protect instead suffocating the people under them. This is protest music through a lens of fire and ruin. We believe in truth. We believe in tearing down the false gods of greed, hatred, and control. And we believe music is still one of the last weapons we have left.

This album is not anti-Christianity. It is not against faith, spirituality, or personal belief. But it is absolutely a call-out of man-made institutions that twist those beliefs into tools of suppression and shame. It’s a strike against hypocrisy, exploitation, and power dressed in robes of salvation.

If you’ve ever been cast out, gaslit, stepped on, or told to kneel to a crown built on lies—this album is for you.

So stand up. Burn the false altars. Scream the truth. And write your own gospel—in ash and steel.
