🔥 About The PryBirds & Vincent Krell 🔥
The PryBirds aren’t your typical underground act. Blending genre-bending fire with raw, poetic intensity, they have become one of Denver’s most compelling indie metal groups, known for fusing gritty truth with ghostly melodies and unapologetic authenticity. Their music walks the line between rebellion and revelation, pulling listeners deep into a soundscape that challenges conformity while celebrating raw talent.

At the heart of it all is Vincent Krell, the founding member and primary songwriter, whose background in both music and real-world grit laid the groundwork for something greater than just another band.
🎸 The Spark That Became Riffuge
Vincent was happy with weekend gigs, pouring his soul into The PryBirds and their ever-growing underground following. But a chance meeting with Ryder Mason and Sam Nolan Carter of Ghost Riff Riders after a local show in Denver changed the trajectory of his path forever.
“They caught the last half of our set and hung around after the show. We swapped stories, shared some tracks… next thing I know, I’m sketching out ideas on a napkin with Sam about a studio that wouldn’t bleed bands dry. They had already started Riffuge Dallas but we took it an awesome direction from there.”
That conversation led to the foundation of Riffuge Denver — an indie music studio built on radically fair principles: 100% of profits go back to the band, with only essential operating costs, taxes, and fees taken out. For Vincent, who’d seen firsthand how young bands are chewed up and spit out by the industry, it was a calling.
💰 From Mini-Grills to Music Mills
In case you’re wondering why the name Krell sounds familiar — Vincent’s father invented the now-iconic Mini-Grill, a compact cooking sensation that swept Japan and became a cult culinary favorite. When the company was sold to a Japanese firm, Vincent inherited enough to live comfortably — but instead of retiring early, he reinvested in the art that changed his life.
“I bagged groceries as a teen at one of those chain markets — saved enough for a junk car I could barely keep running. But it taught me hustle. Just because I had a windfall later doesn’t mean I forgot how hard real life can be.”
With help from Ghost Riff Riders and a few close allies, Vincent used his inheritance to co-found Riffuge Studio Productions Denver — a space for musicians to train, record, and thrive. His business acumen combined with a deep love for music made him a natural force in shaping the new movement.
🎶 The Riffuge Ethos
“The ethos of Riffuge really spoke to me. 100% goes to the band — minus cost, tax, and some basic fees. If we can break even by not ripping off fans, bands, and crew — we’ve succeeded in our life mission.”
Riffuge isn’t just a studio. It’s a community. A training ground. A launching pad. And a rebellion against the profit-driven industry that too often devours art in the name of commerce.
With increased touring, a growing list of bands joining the label, and on-site training programs for musicians, producers, and tech crew — Vincent has already recouped his initial investment. But for him, it’s never been about the money.
🔥 Spreading the Fire
Vincent’s mission is simple: Spread the Fire of Music and Talent. Help musicians rise. Share skills. Elevate art.
Thanks to his vision, and his unexpected collaboration with kindred spirits like Ryder Mason and the Ghost Riff Riders, Riffuge Denver and Dallas – now stands as a beacon of what music can be when passion takes priority over profit.
The PryBirds continue to burn up stages across the underground scene, releasing tracks like “Ash-Writ Gospel” with soul-scorching lyrics and righteous fury — all while helping lead a revolution in how bands build their future.
